Best product for removing mineral build up
My beautician first introduced me to Malibu when I moved to this house nearly 25 years ago. It is still the best one step treatment to remove iron deposits from my hair that turn my hair orange (due to my home’s well water). My hair goes from limp and weighted down light (color and hair-wise) in the time it takes to shower. Once a month at home treatment makes this the most value for my money as well.

Good stuff
My hair feels so much better after this treatment! We have well water and I feel confident knowing this stuff is removing the junk. Even the ladies at Sally’s recommended it. I can smell the chemicals working. It’s easy to mix up and pretty easy to apply and wash out. My hair is softer and feels better afterwards. I use this about every 3 months to get a deep clean and remove the hard minerals.

Works on extensions!
Living in the desert and hard water my extensions get very discolored but this product always works to help get the grungy yellow green tint from the extra minerals out of my hair.

Color treated hair- please read!!
If you have demi-permanant dye in your hair or toner, and did not use this product right before your salon visit, do not use this product until right before you go back to the salon. On the other hand, if you want to strip your color, do use this product.I went to the salon 8 days prior to using this. I did my research first. I’m actually a bit obsessive about researching so it prolongs purchasing things. I’ve wanted to use a clarifier for a while, since I learned about them, because I have very hard well water. This one was the winner for me. My hair is primarily bleached, with root growth of about 5 months that I get highlighted regularly to blend. Then it gets toned to different shades, depending on what I’m going for. This product, on one hand is amazing. My hair has never felt so clean. My natural hair that has grown in since fully bleaching my hair was shiny, smooth, and beautiful. What I wasn’t expecting was for the rest of my hair to be completely stripped back to the bleach only. It went from a creamy chocolate (stunning blonde; I highly recommend trying that color toner) to a super light, summer blonde.After reaching out to malibu c on their Facebook page, they informed me that if I didn’t use this treatment on my hair prior to getting it done, the color would sit on the mineral buildup and therefore come off with it. I greatly appreciate their feedback and learning this. I asked if they would consider putting this information in their directions or product description. They did not respond. So, while I don’t leave long reviews typically, I’d like others who research products to be able to take into consideration there is a time to use Malibu C hardwater treatment, and it is not after going to the salon and paying for the hair you want, it is before. I will continue to use this product because it is amazing, albeit at the right time.I gave it 3 stars for the misleading information which caused me to wash $$$ down the drain but the treatment itself is 5 stars.

Absolutely works!
My daughter and I have been struggling with super itchy scalps since moving to a downtown apartment with hard water. I used this as soon as it arrived and felt immediate relief. I’m writing this the next morning and I am still very happy with the results. If you have issues with hard water, buy this product. You won’t be sorry.

would not recommend this to anyone. My hair is natural and never died but i wear extensions and this turned my hair YELLOW !!! Very disappointed as was done professionally and this has never happened before. Contacted the company direct and they where useless and non helpful. DO NOT BUY

Having stayed with relatives in a hard water area I thought that I noticed something different about my (usually box dyed) hair after washing it. However, it was only a few days later when my daughter blurted out that my hair had a green tinge that i realised what had happened to it. Cue much frantic searching online for how to get rid of it. Some of the advice seemed very expensive, I just don’t have the money to get a hairdresser to sort it out. Then I saw these individual sachets and thought I would give them a go as they worked out cheaply. I bought 2 sachets, just in case, because I have long hair.I wet my hair thoroughly and poured the powdery crystals into my hand, adding a little bit of water I rubbed my hands together to form a paste like consistency, then I mixed in more water so that it was runny enough to be rubbed through my hair. I concentrated mostly on the roots because that was where most of the tinge was as my white roots were starting to come through. I then repeated the process with the other sachet.Because of the texture of the paste it did leave some small blobs in my hair but I wasn’t too worried as I figured it would wash out. The paste has no discernible smell so wasn’t unpleasant to use. I massaged it in for about 5 minutes as recommended. Then I rinsed it thoroughly. It can leave a grainy type texture unless you make sure that you get every bit out.I’d read from others that it made their hair extremely dry so I used a lot of Tigi Head rescue moisture conditioner afterwards and then a final rinse. The end result was that my hair dye had been washed out quite a bit but that’s no big problem as it was only a semi permanent and I can just dye it again, but the green tinge had gone!! I’d been a bit dubious whether it would actually work, but I was delighted with the results. I’d felt so self conscious before I tried the sachets. My hair was also nice and soft, as a result of the conditioner, I assume. Definitely a rescue remedy at a very good price.My relatives have now been asked to get a hard water filter for their shower, lol.

Non vivo in una zona dove l’acqua é particolarmente dura, ma sui capelli decolorati i minerali si sentono di piú.Avevo le punte dei capelli tutte rigide e piegate in angoli strani, dopo un paio di passate con questo sono tornate morbide e dritte.Non é un trattamento idratante o nutriente, ma aiuta il capello a tornare piú maneggevole e ad assorbire meglio le maschere. Sopratutto, vi permette di capire quanto il capello sia realmente rovinato, o se piuttosto sia solo inaridito dai residui minerali. Consiglio di farlo, anche solo una o due volte all’anno: la differenza é molto piacevole.Il mio venditore si chiamava Uk Beauty e spediva tramite Amazon: mi sono trovata molto bene.
