My sister has some of this for her 1-year-old, and I was envious of the nice smell! I ended up ordering some for myself and not only does it smell great, but it actually has really improved my sleep instantly. I did some research beforehand because I know that some trendy sleep aids (like melatonin) aren’t good for longterm use, but it seems like the only controversy is whether you even absorb much magnesium through the skin. And if the placebo effect is responsible, I honestly don’t care. I usually wake up 3-4 times during the night on a GOOD night. When I use this lotion, it seems like I wake up once MAXIMUM, usually not at all. I don’t know if it’s the magnesium, the lovely smell, or placebo, but it doesn’t matter to me as long as it works! I honestly might have given it 5 stars for the smell alone.That said, yes, it is an oily lotion. Which is why I don’t use it as a hand creme but put it on my torso like the instructions suggest. It doesn’t really moisturize, as it actually seems to leave the finger that I use to apply it feeling dry, but since that isn’t why I’m using it, it isn’t a big deal to me. I usually just use my favorite hand lotion after applying it to take care of the dryness on my finger/hand, and that’s that. It doesn’t really absorb quickly, so it’s best to put it on, then wear a loose-fitting nightshirt so you don’t get oil all over your sheets. This hasn’t been an issue for me, but if you wear something with a tighter fit, it’s worth noting. I personally would not apply it during the day due to this issue (I also don’t know if it would help me sleep if not applied near bedtime, I haven’t experimented).

Smells like the spa
My toddler and I both use this lotion at bedtime. I wanted to improve our sleep hygiene and someone recommended magnesium lotion. I haven’t noticed much of a difference in our sleep with the lotion, but it does smell great! I feel like I am at the spa when I put it on. It is very thick and I feel that it moisturizes well. It is somewhat hard to wash off your hands though. I recommend for the great smell and moisturizing effects. I also like that it is all natural. The reason I am giving a 4 star is because it doesn’t really improve our sleep as advertised.

I bought this because I have a 6 year old and an almost 18 month old and neither have been sleeping lately. My 18 month old seriously was waking up at least every hour and no one was getting sleep in my house. I put this on her belly, back and feet. I really like the scent. It is not overly fragrant and it rubs in so nicely. I even use it myself. My kids and I have slept so well every night we use it. I will keep this stuff stocked at my house. Life saver!

I have had poor experience with magnesium creams. So was extra careful about this one.Applied really very little and it was still oily and sticky after a long time massaging it in.Disappointed
